Dental Exam and Teeth Cleaning
Establishing a Full Dental Diagnosis
Why Have a Dental Exam?
Proper oral hygiene is essential for staying healthy. Performed by a dentist, exams help detect and prevent tooth problems at an early stage. There are 2 types of exams:
- Complete examinations: Usually carried out at your first visit. It is recommended to do a full exam every 5 years
- Follow-up examinations: The frequency depends on your oral health condition and needs
Cleaning and Scaling
Dental scaling is vital for maintaining good oral health. Your dentist and hygienist will assess your condition and determine the ideal cleaning and scaling frequency for you to stay healthy. This can vary anywhere from 3, 6, 9 to 12 months. It will also be the occasion to discuss your oral health habits and the different ways to prevent gum disease and tooth decay.
